MUSIC AT CO-CATH

Music is a central part of the liturgy, worship, and community at the Co-Cathedral of St. Joseph.  Music at Co-Cath is, as described in The Tablet Newspaper, the acclaimed music ministry of the Co-Cathedral led by Alejandro Zuleta.

Weekday Masses with Organ and Cantor are Monday through Friday at 8 AM in English, 9 AM in Spanish, and 10 AM in Creole.  Our semi-professional Co-Cathedral Choir sings every Sunday at 11:00 AM.  Our volunteer-based Coro Hispano sings every Sunday at 1:30 PM.  All services are held in person, broadcasted live on Net TV, and live-streamed on Net TV's website and YouTube channel.

In 2020, Music at Co-Cath inaugurated its professional performance series that brings to Brooklyn (and NYC) multicultural, diverse, inspiring, and engaging sacred music experiences. Hoping to bridge the gap between audiences of all ages and backgrounds, and this magnificent repertoire. The repertoire included J.S. Bach’s “St. John Passion” and “Magnificat in D”, and also Monteverdi's “Selva Morale e Spirituale.”

For the 2021 – 2022 season, Music at Co-Cath performed Ariel Ramirez’s “Misa Criolla,” Arvo Pärt’s “Magnificat” and “Da Pacem”, a newly staged performance of J.S. Bach’s “St. John Passion” produced by Music at Co-Cath in collaboration with The Opera Next Door.   In our 2022 - 2023 season, we will be performing Rachmaninoff's "All-Night Vigil" and Monteverdi's Vespers of 1610 among other works.
